Max Verstappen Wins Japanese Grand Prix After Crash Delay

After being forced to retire from the last race in Australia, Max Verstappen continued his domination in Japan. Despite an early crash delay, the Dutch cruised to an easy victory at the Japanese Grand Prix to win his third race since the start of the Formula 1 season. Verstappen made quite a comeback at Suzuka after starting the race in the pole position and taking an early race stoppage. Daniel Ricciardo's early crash caused a red flag, but Verstappen didn’t let this stop him from staying in the lead and coming out victorious. This marks Verstappen’s third victory out of four races this season, and he was overjoyed after getting back on track. “It was a little hiccup of course, the last race, but [I’m] very happy that we are here back on the top… It was very nice. I think the critical bit was of course the start, to stay ahead, and after that the car got better and better for me throughout the race,” said Verstappen. Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez also had a reason to celebrate after coming in second. He was followed by Carlos Sainz Jr., who recently ended Verstappen’s winning streak of nine consecutive races with a victory at the Australian Grand Prix.
