2022-2023 MVP Finalists Unveiled, Joel Embiid & Nikola Jokic in the Running Again

The MVP finalists for the 2022-2023 season have been unveiled, and they look pretty much the same as they did last year. Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic will once again be going head-to-head to prove their worth and be named NBA’s most valuable player. The Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic remains the front-runner for the MVP third year in a row, and he already has two consecutive titles under his belt. He’s once again competing against Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers. Losing MVP to Jokic last year was quite a blow for Embiid, but his focus is elsewhere this season. His main priority is to give it his all on the court, keep winning games with the 76ers, and let everything else naturally come his way. “I just said I’m not going to focus on that. I’ve gotten to the point where people are used to me and people are putting the type of expectations on me. The only way I’m going to get that respect is by winning a championship,” Embiid told The Athletic. Embiid is the only MVP candidate trying to capture the award for the first time. Antetokounmpo and Jokic both won it twice in the past, and Jokic is on the quest to become the first player since Larry Bird with three straight MVPs.
