2023 FIFA Women's World Cup: France & Colombia Through to Quarter-Finals

The round of 16 at the FIFA Women's World Cup was full of wild twists and turns, but we finally know who’s going to make it to the quarter-finals. France and Colombia are the last two teams to make it to the next round of the competition, after deafening Morocco and Jamaica, respectively. France faced Morocco in their latest Women's World Cup match and easily crushed their quarter-finals dreams. The French team was on top of their game in Adelaide and cruised past Morocco 4-0 thanks to Kadidiatou Diani, Kenza Dali, and Eugenie Le Sommer, setting a meeting with Australia in the quarter-finals. Colombia didn’t make it to the quarter-finals as easily, and their face-off with Jamaica was tense until the very last moment. Catalina Usme led her side to a 1-0 win with her lone goal and said they’re feeling optimistic ahead of their quarter-finals meeting with England. "We are dreaming big - we can do this. I am extremely proud to be part of this team, both in our sporting play and our mentality. We will take on England head-to-head and give our all," said Usme. The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup quarter-finals will kick off on August 11, with matches between Spain and the Netherlands and Japan and Sweden.
