Aaron Nola Signs $172 Million Deal with Philadelphia Phillies

Aaron Nola has been with the Philadelphia Phillies since the very start of his professional MLB career, and he’s not going anywhere! The 30-year-old baseball pitcher signed a seven-year extension with his team, reportedly worth $172 million. The Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said that signing Nola was their top priority at the outset of this offseason. He added that having a player like him in their uniform for years to come will help them stay committed to winning. “Aaron has proven to be one of the best and most durable pitchers in our game for a number of years now, and when considering his leadership abilities and his character, it was very important for us to keep him a part of the Phillies family," said Dombrowski in a press release. The Phillies faced their biggest threat in the Atlanta Braves when renegotiating Nola’s contract, but he eventually decided to stay in Philadelphia. Nola is staying loyal to the Phillies after being selected by the team with the seventh pick of the 2014 draft and making his debut in 2015. Nola’s new deal is pending physical and it’s worth $172 million over seven years, keeping him under contract with Philadelphia until 2030.
