Aaron Rodgers Confirms Packers Exit with a Heartfelt Goodbye Message

After saying he’s considering leaving the Green Bay Packers for the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers made it official. The four-time MVP shared a heartfelt message on social media, saying goodbye to the Packers and the city of Green Bay after almost two decades. Rodgers’ goodbye post was accompanied by ten photos, chronicling his time with the Packers over the course of the past 18 seasons. In a lengthy goodbye message, he thanked fans, former teammates, and several members of Green Bay's organization who made his time with the team magical. “I grew up in Green Bay, drafted at 21, fell in love with the game, met some lifelong friends, and take with me memories that will last a lifetime… To the fans, THANK YOU, you made every run out of the tunnel special, every home game magical, and it was my honor to be your QB,” wrote Rodgers on social media. Aaron Rodgers was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft and went on to become one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He became the team’s starting quarterback just three years later and led them to the Super Bowl victory in 2011, winning four NFL MVP titles along the way. Rodgers previously hinted he’s interested in joining the Jets duo to displeasure with Green Bay’s current management. He was eventually traded in exchange for a selection of first- and second-round picks for the upcoming season.
