Aaron Rodgers Staying with Packers After Signing Blockbuster Deal

There was a lot of mystery surrounding Aaron Rodgers’ future with the Green Bay Packers ever since they failed to make it to the Super Bowl, but the star quarterback finally decided what to do next. He’s staying with the Packers for another year after signing a blockbuster deal. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Rodgers signed a four-year deal worth $200 million, with $153 million in guaranteed money. This would make him the highest-paid player in NFL history, but he denied the reported terms of his blockbuster deal. “Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the Packers next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I “signed”. I’m very excited to be back,” wrote Rodgers on Twitter. Rodgers joined the Packers in 2005, and he’s been the team’s key player ever since, winning one Super Bowl title during his tenure. His future with the Packers was put in jeopardy after their NFL season abruptly ended with a divisional loss to the San Francisco 49ers, kickstarting rumors about his potential retirement. Despite the Packers' failure to make it to the Super Bowl, Rodgers won the NFL Most Valuable Player Award for the second consecutive year, bringing his total to four awards.
