Andy Murray Celebrates His 700th ATP Tour Win at Indian Wells

The 2022 Indian Wells Masters is in the full swing right now, and Andy Murray kicked it off with a bang. The British tennis player managed to beat Taro Daniel in the first round of the tournament, scoring his 700th ATP Tour win in the process. The former no. 1 made a comeback after losing the first set to Daniel, and eventually won 1-6 6-2 6-4 at Indian Wells. After turning the tide in his first-round clash, Murrey is set to face Kazakhstan's world no. 33 Alexander Bublik in the next round on Saturday. Murray told BBC Sports that reaching this milestone “means a lot” to him, and he’s hoping he’ll be able to get to 800 wins if he keeps playing on the same level. "I didn't have goals like that, even four or five years ago, but obviously after what's happened these last few years, these are like small milestones. At the end of last year my goal was to try and reach 800 match wins, but first things first, let's try and get to 700,” said Murray. The 2022 Indian Wells Masters is held from March 7 through March 20, and Murray is taking part in the tournament as a wild card pick.
