Arsenal Drop More Points After Blowing Two-Goal Lead Against West Ham

Arsenal was a clear Premiere League front-runner for most of the season, but Man City is slowly catching up. The Gunners drooped some more points in a disappointing draw with West Ham United after shockingly blowing a two-goal lead on Sunday at London Stadium. Arsenal entered their latest match with a lot of confidence, and they were two goals ahead the Hammers just 10 minutes into the game. The early goals by Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard gave Arsenal the 2-0 lead, but they couldn’t keep the momentum going in the second half. West Ham regained their composure after Said Benrahma's penalty reduced the deficit 33 minutes into the game. Jarrod Bowen’s equalizer in the second half completely threw Arsenal off their game, and they failed to make a comeback from that point on. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said it was “very disappointing” to see the team lose their purpose, especially after the superb start. "We gave them hope, conceded a terrible penalty, then credit to them. We got on the rollercoaster where everything is going, corners and throw-ins, and we never got away from that. The purpose we needed for the third and fourth goal, I didn't see it," said Arteta. Arsenal is still sitting atop the Premier League table after this draw with 74 points, but Man City is getting closer to catching up with 70 points.
