Arsenal Drops Points in Title Race in Chaotic Draw with Liverpool

Arsenal came into their latest match with Liverpool as a clear favorite, but things didn’t exactly go as planned. The match ended in a chaotic 2-2 draw that decreased Arsenal's lead at the top of the Premier League standings down to six points. Arsenal kicked things off strong and it seemed like they were in for another easy victory for most of the first half. Gabriel Martinelli gave his side a lead eight minutes into the game, and Gabriel Jesus managed to score again 20 minutes later – but Arsenal was down on their luck from that point on. Mohamed Salah’s goal for Liverpool three minutes before the break shifted the mood, and gave the Reds a much-needed comeback. They held their ground in the second half and Roberto Firmino eventually evened out the score with a dramatic late equalizer. Despite the disappointing outcome, Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta is trying to focus on the things that went right at Anfield. "When you concede at the end it’s always two points dropped because you have it and you’re suffering in certain moments… Looking at the two halves it’s probably a fair result. You have to take it. The big lesson is probably play the way we did in the first half,” said Arteta. Arsenal remains at the top of the Premier League table following this draw, but their lead was cut to six points, with Man City getting closer to catching up.
