Arsenal Five Points Ahead of Competition Before World Cup Break

With the World Cup just around the corner, it will take a while before we see another Premier League match again, but it’s pretty clear who’s the leader right now. Arsenal is entering the World Cup break with 5 points ahead of competition following their recent match with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Arsenal was on top of their game against the Wolves on Saturday, and they easily defeated them 2-0. The Gunners owe their latest victory to their new team captain Martin Odegaard, who finished the game with two goals, both scored in the second half. Arsenal is currently five points ahead of Man City and they’ll stay in the lead for quite some time. We won’t get to see another Premier League match until December 26, because the league is going on a break during the World Cup. Mikel Arteta said it would be ideal for the team to keep on playing while they have momentum, but since that’s not possible he’s excited to see some of his players fulfill their dream of representing their home country at the World Cup. “It’s great to be where we are and we are enjoying that moment. Now we have a big break and we have to reflect on what we’re doing and be prepared for after the World Cup. Our aim is to play better as a team every day, to have better tools to do what we want to do,” said Arteta.
