Atlanta Braves’ Win Streak Ends with a Loss to San Diego Padres

The Atlanta Braves had the longest active winning streak in the MLB this season, but the San Diego Padres managed to stop them in their tracks. They handed them the first loss in eight games on Wednesday and managed to snap their winning streak with a 1-0 victory. The Padres were a clear underdog in this game, which marks only their second win in eight games, but they managed to beat the odds. A fourth-inning home run by Juan Soto led the Padres to a well-deserved win, as the Braves struggled to cash in on all the opportunities they created on Wednesday. San Diego are off to a pretty slow start this season, but manager Bob Melvin isn’t too frustrated about their uneven result – especially in the face of Fernando Tatis Jr.’s return. “It’s been a long time. I’m looking forward to getting him in there. We saw what he had to offer in spring training, we saw how he was swinging the bat in Triple-A. He couldn’t be more excited about getting in the lineup,” said Melvin. Tatis missed all of the 2022 season following his 80-game PED suspension, and San Diego are hoping he’ll give them an infusion of energy they've been lacking since the start of the season.
