Avalanche Take 2-0 Lead in Stanley Cup Finals After Destroying Lightning in Game 2

The Colorado Avalanche entered the Stanley Cup Finals as a clear underdog, but they’re giving it their all to come out of it as a winner. After a twenty-year absence, they’re one step closer to scoring a big victory after demolishing the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 2. The Avalanche took the 2-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals after defeating Tampa, and it was a joy to watch them leave their opponents in the dust. They’re just two wins away from taking the title home, after scoring a 7-0 win on Saturday night. One of the players responsible for this win is Cale Makar, who scored two goals for Colorado, including the seventh goal of the night that led his team to a dominant victory. “I feel like we played to our identity to a ‘T’ tonight. We had some good goals and stuff like that... It was a little bit of a weird one tonight. Obviously, we’re getting opportunities but guys were able to able to capitalize, so that’s the good part,” said Maker post-game. Even the Lightning coach Jon Cooper couldn’t help but admit that the Avalanche is “playing at an elite level right now” and that they deserve credit for that. His team will have a chance to score their first win in Game 3, taking place on Monday night.
