Bayern Munich Cruises Past Barcelona in Their Latest Champions League Face-Off

The Champions League is in the full swing, and Bayern Munich and Barcelona met up in one of Tuesday’s most exciting matches. Despite high expectations for both teams, only Bayern managed to live up to them and scored an easy 2-0 win against Barcelona. After an uneventful first half, Bayern started the second portion of the game pretty strong, scoring two goals within five minutes. Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane gave the German side an impressive 2-0 lead, and Barca spent the rest of the game trying to catch up, with no success. Despite their defeat, Barcelona’s coach Xavi believes this loss doesn’t accurately reflect the team’s performance because they created a lot of chances throughout the game, especially in the first half. "The result does not reflect the game. You dominated, create more chances and you end up paying for not being clinical… We will take the positives and even though it was a negative result we can learn from the errors,” Xavi told Movistar after the match. Bayern’s fans were keeping a close eye on this match because it was the first time Robert Lewandowski returned to Munich since joining Barca earlier this summer. His track record with the Spanish club has been pretty impressive so far, but he wasn’t on top of his game on Tuesday and missed several good opportunities against his old team.
