Benfica’s Darwin Nunez Reportedly Agrees to Personal Terms with Liverpool

Liverpool is one step closer to welcoming another amazing striker next season – Benfica's Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan player reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Reds, but this deal involves many moving parts, and the club is yet to make it official. Nunez is yet to sign the deal and there’s no official number attached to it, but Benfica is expected to ask around €100 million for their star striker. If Liverpool ends up agreeing to these terms, this will mark the new transfer record for the Portuguese club. Liverpool officials are yet to make a statement regarding Nunez, but Jurgen Klopp expressed his admiration for the young striker back in April, after he impressed him with his performance in the Champions League quarter-final. “He was physically strong, quick, was calm around his finish. Good, really good. I always say in these situations if he is healthy, it’s a big career ahead of him,” said Klopp of Nunez. Liverpool is targeting the Uruguayan striker as a replacement for Sadio Mane, who is expected to join Bayern Munich. The Reds are yet to strike a deal with the German club, after rejecting Bayern’s most recent offer for Mane, worth approximately €35 million.
