Charles Leclerc Leads Ferrari to 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix Win

This year’s Formula One World Championship kicked off with the Bahrain Grand Prix, on Sunday and the first race was truly a wild ride. Charles Leclerc started the race from pole position and managed to give Ferrari a win they desperately needed at the start of the season. Leclerc was on fire since the qualifications and took the pole position after setting the fastest time ahead of Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. He managed to replicate the same success during the actual race after Verstappen and his Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez decided to retire due to fuel system problems. This marks the first major victory for the 24-year-old Formula 1 driver since 2019, when he won the Italian Grand Prix. He was followed by his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr., making this the first since the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix for Ferrari drivers to take the first two spots at the end of the race. “I’m incredibly happy after the last two years, which have been very difficult for the team, for myself, for Carlos last year. We had to work extremely hard and… to finally prove all the work we did in the last two years is paying off felt amazing,” said Leclerc after winning his Bahrain Grand Prix title.
