Charles Leclerc Shuts Down Rumors He’s Been Talking to Mercedes

Rumor has it Charles Leclerc could be brought in as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton at the end of the season, but he denied these speculations. The 25-year-old Formula 1 driver denied talking to Mercedes and said he’s "fully committed" to Ferrari. Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes is up at the end of the season, and it’s unclear if they'll extend his deal. In the face of his uncertain future, rumors about his possible replacement are going wild, and Leclerc has been touted as his successor in the face of Ferrari's recent struggles. Leclerc recently addressed speculations about his potential move and said he never received a call from Toto Wolff or anyone at Mercedes. "No, there have not been any conversations. Not yet. Not for the moment. For now, I am fully focused on the project I am in today, which is Ferrari… It has always been a dream for me to be in this team and my main priority is to win a world championship with this team,” said Leclerc. Despite being regarded as one of the fastest drivers in Formula 1, Leclerc’s track record this season doesn’t reflect his reputation. He scored six points in three races after retiring from two of them and only took the seventh spot at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
