Chelsea Scores Narrow Victory in 7-Goal Thriller Against Man United

Chelsea and Manchester United haven’t been on top of their game this season, but they redeemed themselves on Thursday night. Their latest face-off resulted in a seven-goal thriller that Chelsea narrowly won after 100 minutes on the pitch. Chelsea truly came in swinging on Thursday, and they were in a 1-0 lead just four minutes into the game thanks to Conor Gallagher’s early goal. Cole Palmer doubled their lead just 15 minutes later, but Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes sparked a comeback for their side and evened out the score before the second half. Things took a wild turn in the stoppage time, and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer completed a hat-trick after scoring twice. The 4-3 victory doesn’t make much difference for Chelsea in the grand scheme of things, since it also ended their hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League. Despite sitting in the middle of the Premier League rankings, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino believes they have a lot to look forward to next season. "It's important in the end to finish in the way that we finished, creating I think the connection (between) fans and players. It's a very good thing that happened today and I think should be a turning point for us, creating trust with the fans and in the team," said Pochettino.
