Corbin Carroll Signs $111 Million Deal with Arizona Diamondbacks

It’s only been a few months since Corbin Carroll made his MLB debut, but his future is looking pretty bright. The 22-year-old outfielder signed a lucrative eight-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks, reportedly worth $111 million. Steve Gilbert of MLB.com broke the news about Carroll’s new deal, pointing out that the team is yet to officially announce it. The 22-year-old would be earning $111 million over the next eight years, but the club option for 2031 could bring his extension with the Diamondbacks to a total of $134 million. Gilbert also reports there are escalators in the deal from 2029-31, allowing D-backs to buy out Carroll's arbitration years, in addition to two to three of his years as a free agent. Once the deal is finalized, it will be the largest contract ever signed by a player with less than 100 days in Major League. Carroll was chosen by the D-back in the first round of the 2019 MLB draft, and his initial deal was worth $3.7 million. He finally made his debut in August last year, and quickly went on to become one of the top prospects in the MLB. He slashed .260/.330/.500 (133 OPS+) with four home runs and nine doubles in just 32 games with Arizona, and we can’t wait to see what his future holds after this lucrative deal.
