Cristiano Ronaldo Confirms He’s Staying with Manchester United

After weeks of speculations about his potential trade, Cristiano Ronaldo finally shared some news about his future plans. The Portuguese striker confirmed he’s joining the Red Devils in the pre-season match on Sunday, hinting that he’s staying with the team for another season. Ronaldo’s name was constantly making headlines in the past few weeks, as rumors of his exit from United started running wild. Some publications claimed that the team has no plans to sell their star player, others reported that his options are limited even if he wants out, and the Portuguese striker eventually decided to speak up. Ronaldo confirmed he’ll return in Sunday's pre-season match against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford by tweeting "Sunday, the king plays." This statement comes shortly after he said there’s not much truth in reports about his transfer. “It’s impossible not to talk about me for one day. Otherwise, the press makes no money. You know that if you don’t lie, you can’t get people’s attention. Keep going and one day you will get some news right,” wrote Ronaldo on Instagram. The Portuguese striker returned to Manchester in 2021, and their last season was pretty disappointing despite his best efforts. It marked his first trophyless year since 2010 after United finished the Premier League season in a disappointing sixth place.
