Daniil Medvedev Wins Fourth Title of the Year at 2023 Miami Open

Daniil Medvedev’s year is off to a great start, and he continued his domination in Miami. The Russian player defeated Jannik Sinner in straight sets to lift the trophy at the Miami Open, winning his fourth title of the year. Medvedev broke serve twice in the opening set, and then easily powered through the second set, eventually beating Sinner 7-5 6-3. The duo previously met at the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam, where Medvedev also managed to come out victorious. Medvedev moved to no. 4 in the rankings following this victory and said he was really happy to win because it was a tough match. “It was not easy conditions. I don't know if Jannik had a small injury or cramp. I was also struggling but tried not to show it… At the end I was quite shaky so the serve is a little bit tougher. I managed to get myself together and close out the match," he said post-match. Medvedev has been on fire since the beginning of 2023, and this marks his fourth ATP title, following wins in Dubai, Doha, and Rotterdam. With his win in Miami, Medvedev continued his historic victory tour, winning 19 titles in 19 different cities.
