Devin Booker Makes His Case For MVP by Dropping 51 Points Against Bulls

Devin Booker is yet to claim an MVP award, but his luck could change this season. He continued building a strong MVP case on Wednesday night when he scored 51 points to lead the Phenix Sun to an epic win against the Chicago Bulls. The Suns defeated the Bulls 132-113, and Booker was definitely the game’s most impressive player, despite sitting out the full fourth quarter. He finished the match with 51 points, upping his performance from two nights prior when he scored 44 points against the Sacramento Kings. Booker’s new performance is quite historic because it’s the third-most ever points scored in 30 minutes or less. The record is held by Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thomson with 52-point and 60-point outputs. Devin Booker finished fourth in the MVP voting last year, but his luck could change this time around, and the Phoenix Suns general manager James Jones believes he’s worthy of this award. “I see a young man who understands he’s the key to an extended run of winning. He’s able to do it from so many different ways… I think that’s why he’s rightfully in the conversation for MVP. Without him, we’re nowhere near where we are today,” said Jones.
