Diamondbacks Beat Phillies To Reach First World Series in Two Decades

It’s been over two decades since the last time the Arizona Diamondbacks reached the World Series, but they’re gearing up for a glorious comeback. D-Backs scored an epic win in Game 7 against the Philadelphia Phillies to advance to the Fall Classic for the first time since 2001. The D-Backs haven’t made it to the World Series since winning a title in 2001, but they’re finally gearing up to do it again. They’ve reached this point after 84 wins in the regular season, including their latest against Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday. They largely owe their 4-2 victory to the Rookie of the Year candidate Corbin Carroll, who led them to their latest win with three hits, two RBIs, two runs, and two stolen bases. Following the game, Carroll said they came this far because “we know what we have in that clubhouse, and it’s special.” Arizona manager Torey Lovullo credited the amazing dynamics between the team’s players for their latest success while discussing their latest triumph with The Associated Press. “I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll say it again: A connected team is a very dangerous team. No matter what happened in those times of crisis, these guys stuck together,” said Lovullo.
