Dolphins Improve Their Playoff Chances After Holding Off Saints

The New Orleans Saints have really been struggling to prove their worth in the past few weeks, and they failed to stand their ground against the Miami Dolphins. Dolphins significantly improved their playoff chances after defeating the short-handed Saints 20-3 on Monday Night. Tua Tagovailoa and Jaylen Waddle were the dynamic duo largely responsible for the Dolphins’ latest win, but the team's great defense also significantly helped. Saints rookie quarterback Ian Book had nothing on them, as they intercepted him twice and sacked him eight times. Miami’s coach Brian Flores praised team efforts this season, as they went from 1-7 losing score to moving to the final playoff spot. “This team stuck together, really the entire year. Obviously, we dealt with a lot of adversity early in the year. It revealed a lot — revealed the character of the guys in our locker room. Our guys kept fighting, they kept sticking together, they worked hard,” said Flores. Miami’s chances weren’t looking so great at the beginning of the season after they lost seven straight games. They made a glorious comeback and scored seven straight wins after seven straight losses, becoming the first NFL team to do so. After defeating the Saints, they now hold the no. 7 seed in the AFC playoffs.
