Eight-Goal Thriller Between Chelsea and Man City Ends in Dramatic Draw

Great things tend to happen whenever Manchester City and Chelsea come face to face, and their latest showdown was one for the books! Sunday’s match between the two Premier League titans resulted in the dramatic eight-goal draw thanks to Cole Palmer’s penalty in stoppage time. Man City’s star player Erling Haaland opened the scoring with an easy penalty 25 minutes into the game, and things got pretty wild from there. Thiago Silva evened out the score four minutes later before Raheem Sterling gave Chelsea a 2-1 lead. Their celebration was short-lived because two more goals by Man City’s Manuel Akanji and Haaland quickly followed, but Chelsea’s players weren’t’ giving up. Nicolas Jackson scored another goal for their side, only for Rodri to blow their hopes up with the late goal for Man City. The most dramatic moment came in the stoppage time when Cole Palmer denied his former club a victory with a late penalty. This was a full-circle moment for Palmer, who left Man City for Chelsea for £40 million earlier this summer. Man City remains the leader in the Premier League rankings following their draw with Chelsea, but the Blues’ chances aren’t looking that great. After a rocky start to the season, Chelsea struggled to find their footing and they currently rank at no. 10.
