England Defeats Pakistan to Win 2022 T20 World Cup

After a lot of anticipation, the 2022 T20 World Cup finally took place on Sunday, and it was truly a clash of the titans. Despite being the first team to reach the final, Pakistan failed to come out victorious, losing to England by five wickets. England came under a lot of pressure, but they managed to stand their ground against Pakistan. It was another brilliant night for Ben Stokes, who finished the match with unbeaten 52* runs to lead his team to their second T20 World Cup win. The team’s captain Jos Butler told BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra that he’s immensely proud of his team after scoring this win, adding it feels very different from their victory at the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. "It hasn't sunk in at all obviously. What an unbelievable effort from everyone to win the game. I am a bit speechless. It feels really different to 2019. It was a different time, a different place, and a different group. I am just immensely proud. Both are just incredible,” said Butler. The 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup took place in Australia, between October 16 and November 13, when the final match was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. England’s Sam Curran was named the Player of the match and the Player of the tournament.
