England Enters Euro 2024 Unbeaten Despite North Macedonia Draw

England’s last qualifying Euro 2024 match against North Macedonia ended with a dramatic draw, but they’re keeping their heads high. The English team completed an unbeaten qualifying campaign on Monday night, and they’ll enter Euro 2024 as one of the top seeds. England entered their latest face-off with North Macedonia in Skopje as a clear favorite, but they struggled to prove their dominance. North Macedonia entered the second half with a 1-0 lead after captain Enis Bardhi scored a goal for their side. England only equalized the score thanks to the own goal of the Macedonian midfielder Jani Atanasov, who faced pressure from Harry Kane and Phil Foden. This helped them narrowly avoid a defeat, and finish as Group C winners with six wins and two draws, entering Euro 2024 without a single loss. England manager Gareth Southgate said they learned a lot from this match, despite failing to come out as winners. “Given that we had already qualified and everything we achieved, I thought the mentality of the players tonight was excellent… It was probably just that finish, that final pass which was difficult to find against their defense but I thought lots of positives to take from these performances,” Southgate told the reporters. The UEFA Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024, and England will be in the first pot alongside Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium, and hosts Germany.
