Erling Haaland Becomes Fastest Player to Reach 20 Premier League Goals

Manchester City easily cruised past Leeds United to score another major victory on Wednesday, and it was a night to remember for Erling Haaland. The Norwegian player reached his 20th Premier League goal, becoming the fastest player in history to hit this number. Manchester City came into the match pretty strong, but it took a while before they scored the first goal. Rodri gave them a 1-0 lead before the break, and Haaland sealed the deal by scoring two more goals in the second half. This brings his total of Premier League goals to 20 in just 14 matches. He broke the record previously held by Sunderland's Kevin Phillips by seven appearances. Haaland admitted that he’s more motivated and hungrier than ever after having to watch the World Cup from home. Haaland’s new milestone was extra-special because his parents were there to cheer him on. This match truly brings things full circle for their family since Erling’s father Alfie Haaland played for both Leeds and Man City before retiring. "My father and mother were on the tribune today. It's special. I'm happy – it's a special moment in my career… In my craziest fantasy, I couldn't think of being at Elland Road and scoring for Manchester City against Leeds," said Haaland.
