Erling Haaland Scores 50th Goal This Season as Man City Beat Fulham

Erling Haaland has been setting records left and right since the start of the season, and his latest is the most historic one yet. He scored his 50th goal of the season in all competitions as Man City defeated Fulham 2-1, becoming the first player in almost a century to do so. Haaland is the first player to hit the 50-goal mark since Tom 'Pongo' Waring did so for Aston Villa in 1931. The Norwegian striker scored a goal just three minutes into the game, and Man City boss Pep Guardiola is as impressed by his latest record as the rest of us. "I know that Winston Churchill was not even Prime Minister the last time the record was set that Erling equaled! That means it was a long time ago. He showed his mentality with his goal," said Guardiola. He also praised Julian Alvarez, who scored Man City’s second goal, for giving the team everything whenever he plays. He also addressed Jack Grealish’s performance and described him as “a fighter”, saying it doesn’t all come down to goals and assists. Man City is just one point behind Arsenal in the Premier League rankings after this victory, and they’ll have a chance to catch up against West Ham and Leeds on May 3 and 6. Their Champions League chances are also looking great, and they’ll face Real Madrid in the first leg of the semi-finals on May 9.
