Felix Auger-Aliassime Wins His First ATP Title at the Rotterdam Open

Many tennis greats took part in the Rotterdam Open last week, but the title eventually went to one of the biggest underdogs. Felix Auger-Aliassime managed to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, winning the very first ATP title of his career. Tsitsipas entered the game as a clear favorite and the first seed at this tournament, but he couldn’t stand his ground to the Canadian player. Auger-Aliassime defeated him in just 78 minutes, in straight sets 6-4 6-2 to land his first-ever ATP Tour title, after reaching eight previous finals in the past and losing every single one. The world no. 9 was on quite a journey since the beginning of this tournament and managed to defeat Cameron Norrie and Andy Murray on his way to the final. The 21-year-old tennis player described his Rotterdam Open victory as the happiest day of his career and hopefully the first of many to come. “This year I feel more mature. I feel I am a better player than in the years before when I was playing those finals. I think I showed it and proved it to myself and everybody and I think it is a good sign of what is to come,” said Auger-Aliassime after defeating Tsitsipas.
