Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland Headlining UFC 293

It’s been months since Israel Adesanya’s last fight, and he’s finally gearing up to defend his middleweight title. The UFC 293 schedule has finally been unveiled, and Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland will be in charge of headlining it this September. UFC 293 will take place on September 10 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia and Adesanya vs. Strickland will be its main event. Tai Tuivasa and Alexander Volkov are also expected to square off in the ring for the heavyweight title, while the fight between Jamie Mullarkey and John Makdessi will determine the lightweight champion. Adesanya is on a quest to win his 11th consecutive UFC title fight, and it’s not a shocker that Strickland was chosen as his opponent. They were expected to face each other ever since Dricus Du Plessis withdrew from contention in mid-July due to a foot injury. UFC president Dana White was in charge of announcing the fight between Adesanya and Strickland, and he promised another clash of the titans. “What I love about Israel (is) he’s always ready to take on the best in the world – anyone, any time. And Strickland is an absolute maniac, who doesn’t back down from anyone. This will be a great fight,” said White.
