Israel Adesanya Knocks Out Alex Pereira to Win Back UFC Middleweight Title

Israel Adesanya has lost to Alex Pereira on several occasions in the past, but he finally managed to defeat his bitter rival. Adesanya managed to reclaim the UFC middleweight title at the UFC 287 after brutally knocking out Pereira in the second round. Pereira vs. Adesanya was the headlining fight of the UFC 287 in Miami on Saturday, and it lived up to the hype. The rivalry between the two goes all the way back to 2016, and this marks Adesanya’s first win. He claimed the UFC middleweight title after a spectacular knockout at the 4:21 mark of the second round. Adesanya’s track record against Pereira hasn’t been so great, and he managed to defeat him three times in the past. Most recently, Adesanya lost to Pereira at UFC 281 in November last year, but he finally managed to beat his boogeyman during their latest face-off. “They say revenge is sweet and if you know me, I’ve got a sweet tooth… Alex is a great champion. He lost the belt tonight but he will always be the champion. I told you, the hunter is now the hunted. Beating me, he made me a better fighter, a better person,” said Adesanya post-match.
