Jannik Sinner Wins His Third Title of 2024 at the Miami Open

Jannik Sinner has been on fire since the start of 2024, and his domination continued at the Miami Open. The Italian tennis player scored his third title of the year in Miami, after defeating Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets. Sinner finished as runner-up in Miami in 2021 and 2023, but it was finally his time to shine this year. He easily cruised past the Bulgarian player Grigor Dimitrov, defeating him 6-3 6-1, to climb to the career-high No. 2 in the world rankings. He made history as the first Italian to rise this high since the ATP rankings were first introduced in 1973. Sinner said he was full of energy following his victory and reflected on the amazing week he had in Miami. "It has been a very special week for me, I have faced different kinds of situations on the court and different opponents… I'm very happy to be number two in the world. It is just a number, for me most important is trying to execute my gameplan and I managed to do this," Sinner told Sky Sports. Sinner started 2024 on a high note, by winning his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open. He went on to secure two more titles in Rotterdam and Miami.
