Jason Robertson Signs $31-Million Extension with Dallas Stars

Jason Robertson established himself as a key member of the Dallas Stars’ roster since joining the team in 2019, and he’s not going anywhere. The 23-year-old hockey player signed a four-year extension with his current team worth $31 million. Robertson’s new deal will have him earning an average annual salary of $7.75 million, and it’s well-deserved. He was an integral member of the Stars' lineup last season, leading the team in goals (41), power-play tallies (13), shots (220), and shooting percentage (18.6). Stars general manager Jim Nill released a statement confirming Robertson’s return and said they’re thrilled to have him for the next four years. He described him as an integral part of the present and future of their team and praised him for tirelessly working to become a better player. “His knack for scoring goals and seeing plays develop on the ice are just some of the tremendous assets that he brings to our team. He is one of the best young players in the NHL, and we look forward to seeing him continue to progress," said Nill in a statement. Robertson was drafted by the Stars in the second round of the NHL draft in 2017, and he officially joined the team in 2019 but spent most of his first season with their AHL affiliate the Texas Stars.
