Jeff Bezos Reportedly Exploring Potential Washington Commanders Bid

The Washington Commanders are currently looking for a new owner, and one of the richest men in the world just threw his hat into the ring. It’s been reported that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos hired an investment firm to examine the possibility of a bid. Washington Post's Mark Maske, Nicki Jhabvala, and Liz Clarke reported that he’s working closely with Allen & Company, and if there’s truth to these rumors – Bezos is not playing around. Allen & Company have a great record in the NFL, and they previously handled the sales of the Denver Broncos in 2022 and the Carolina Panthers in 2018. This news comes a few months after the current owner Dan Snyder and his wife Tanya hired Bank of America Securities to explore the possibility of selling the team. Multiple sources confirmed they’re considering a full sale of the franchise, but they’re yet to make the news official. Bezos is yet to submit an official bid for the Commanders, but he won’t have to face tough competition if he decides to go down this road. His net worth of around $119 billion puts him ahead of the competition, and Josh Harris, the owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils, seems to be the only other interested bidder to emerge so far.
