Kai Havertz's Late Goal Shoots Arsenal to the Top of Premier League

Arsenal have been gunning for the top spot in the Premier League since the start of the season, and they’ve finally reached this goal. Kai Havertz's late header in Saturday’s match against Brentford propelled them to the top of the Premier League rankings. Arsenal owes their latest victory to Kai Havertz, who joined the team earlier this summer for a reported fee of £65 million. He finally proved his worth against Brentford, and singlehandedly took his Gunners to the top of the Premier League with a dramatic 89th-minute goal. The match against Brentford marked Mikel Arteta's 200th game in charge of the Gunners. Arsenal’s manager said he’s “so happy” after watching the team overcome many obstacles to finish atop the Premier League rankings. “When you have the opportunity to go top, and you come […] to a place as uncomfortable as Brentford, I think the team showed so much willingness to compete, to dig in, and to play the game we had to play to win it and I think we fully deserved to win the game. I’m so happy,” Arteta told reporters. Arsenal secured the no. 1 Premier League spot with 30 points, just one behind Man City following their draw with Liverpool on Saturday.
