Kevin Durant Out for Three Weeks with Ankle Sprain

Kevin Durant’s start with the Phoenix Suns has been plagued by injuries, and it will take a while before he joins the team again. Only a week after making his Suns debut, Durant is out again with an ankle sprain that will keep him on the bench for at least three weeks. Durant officially joined the Suns on February 9, after the Nets traded him along with T.J. Warren in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four future first-round picks, and a pick swap. After the deal was official, Suns Governor Mat Ishbia described Durant as “one of the greatest and most accomplished players in the history of the sport” and said that “his character also embodies the world-class commitment to excellence." The Suns obviously had high expectations of Durant, but they waited for almost a month to see him in action – and once they did, it didn’t last for too long. He was listed out with a right knee injury when the deal was complete and only made his debut on March 1. Durant’s track record was pretty impressive in the past few games, but he’s now scheduled to miss at least three weeks with a left ankle sprain. Durant suffered his latest injury in pre-game warmups ahead of Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
