Kevin Durant Reportedly Eyes Philadelphia 76ers As Possible Trade Destination

Ever since Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, transfer rumors have been running wild and they’re not going away anytime soon. According to most recent reports, the two-time NBA champion is eyeing the Philadelphia 76ers as a possible trade destination. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the high-ranking Sixers officials “felt strongly about engaging with Brooklyn on a Durant trade.” He also reported that this rumored trade would most likely include Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris, along with several draft picks. If Durant ended up being traded to the Sixers, he would reunite with his former teammate James Harden, who went to Philadelphia after only a year with the Nets. They previously both played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but their relationship was pretty rocky because Harden wasn’t happy playing the second fiddle to Durant and Russell Westbrook. Durant requested a trade from the Nets in late June, after three seasons in Brooklyn. This was quite a shocker because it’s previously been reported he would only consider a trade if Kyrie Irving left the team. Irving eventually exercised his player option and decided to stay in Brooklyn, but Durant started looking for a new home. In addition to eying the Sixers, it’s also been reported he’s expressed interest in joining the Boston Celtics.
