LA Lakers Advance to Semi-Finals After Demolishing Memphis Grizzlies

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t even make it to the NBA playoffs last season, but their chances are looking much better this time around. The Lakers made it to the Western Conference semi-finals after demolishing the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6. This marked the Lakers’ third home victory against Memphis, and they were truly on top of their game on Friday night. They demolished the Grizzlies 125-85, ending the first round of the playoffs at the Lakers' home court. D’Angelo Russell scored a career playoff-high 31 points, followed by LeBron James with 22 points. He said they entered their latest game with the Grizzlies with a Game 7 mentality and did everything in their power to make it to the semi-finals in front of the home crowd. “We understood that we had an opportunity to play in front of our fans, and we wanted to try to end it tonight. We came out with discipline. From the start of the game, we were just locked in on our game plan all the way until the final seconds,” said James. The Lakers will face either the Sacramento Kings or Golden State Warriors in the semi-finals, depending on the outcome of their face-off in Game 7 on Sunday.
