Lakers Hit a New Low with 37-Point Blowout Loss to Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers faced many obstacles since the beginning of the season, and they truly hit the rock bottom on Saturday night. Even LeBron James couldn’t help the team stand their ground to the Denver Nuggets, and the game ended with a 37-point loss. The Nuggets were on top of their game in their second straight blowout win and defeated the Lakers 133-96. Bones Hyland topped the scoreboard with 27 points, closely followed by Jeff Green with a season-high 26 points. Nikola Jokic was also on fire and finished the game with 17 points and his eighth triple-double of the season. James did his best to avoid another embarrassment and netted 25 points for the Lakers, but it just wasn’t enough. He didn’t have much support from the rest of the team, apart from Russel Westbrook who scored 19 points, while everyone else was far behind. James didn’t address the media after the game, which is a rarity for a vocal player. This loss is difficult to brush off because the Lakers are now in danger of falling out of the top eight in the Western Conference. Their loss was such a huge disappointment that even the former Lakers legend Magic Johnson criticized them on social media, saying that the team deserves more “than a lack of effort and no sense of urgency.”
