LeBron and Giannis Chosen as Captains of 2023 All-Star Game

The All-Star Game is one of the most anticipated NBA events of the year, and we finally know who’ll lead it this time around. Giannis Antetokounmpo was named the captain of the Eastern Conference while LeBron James will lead the Western Conference team. The Los Angeles Lakers' James will make his 19th All-Star Game appearance this year, and this number is quite historic. He’s tying Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most appearances in NBA history. This marks the sixth straight year James has been voted captain, and he never lost an All-Star game since the league has introduced captains. As for Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks player will make his seventh All-Star appearance and his third as a captain. He’s taking over from Kevin Durant, whose availability remains in question due to a recent knee injury. In addition to Durant and Antetokounmpo, the list of Eastern Conference starters also includes Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), and Kyrie Irving (Brooklyn Nets). Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), Zion Williamson (New Orleans Pelicans), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), and Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks) will serve as the starters for the Western Conference, along with James. The 2023 NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 19, 2023, at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. It marks the 30th anniversary of the first All-Star Game held in this city.
