LeBron James Scores 47 Points Against Hawks on His 38th Birthday

It was LeBron James’ birthday on Friday and he celebrated it in style! The NBA legend was on top of his game and led the Los Angeles Lakers to an epic win against the Atlanta Hawks after scoring 47 points on his 38th birthday. Following Wednesday night’s loss to James’ former team the Miami Heat, the Lakers made a glorious comeback on Friday. The King’s triumphant performance led Los Angeles to a much-deserved win, and they managed to beat the Hawks 130-121. James was largely responsible for this victory, with 47 points scored, including 18-of-27 from the field in 40 minutes. Surprisingly enough, this is only his second-best performance on his birthday – he previously scored 48 points upon turning 25 in 2009 while playing with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Questions about possible retirement have been following James for years, but he plans to continue playing for as long as he feels that he’s still on top of his game and can win games and compete for championships. "I know as long as my mind stays in it, I can play at this level for a minute. Now, that's up to my mind. My body is going to be OK because if my mind is into it, I will make sure my body is taken care of and I'll continue to put in the work," said James this week.
