Luka Doncic Nets Second-Best Scoring EuroBasket Performance with 47 Points

Luka Doncic is one of the NBA stars taking part in this year’s EuroBasket tournament, and his performance game was one of the books. The Dallas Mavericks player led Slovenia to another epic win on Wednesday night, when he scored historic 47 points against France. This is the second-best scoring performance in a single game in the tournament's history and the highest number of points scored by a single player at EuroBasket in 65 years. The record is held by the Belgian guard Eddy Terrace, who netted 63 points against Albania in 1957. In addition to scoring 47 points on 15-of-23 shooting from the field, Doncic also recorded seven rebounds and five assists. His performance is largely responsible for Slovenia’s 88-82 win against France, and it propelled them to the top spot in Group B. Slovenia coach Aleksander Sekulic was as impressed by Doncic’s performance as the rest of us and praised him for leading the team to another epic victory. “Luka had a great night. He spoils us so much that we think this is normal. But this is not normal. It’s high level. It’s really amazing what he’s doing on the court,” said Sekulic. Slovenia made it to the round of 16 following their most recent win, and they’re set to face Belgium in their next match on September 10.
