Man City Easily Reaches Champions League Final After Destroying Real Madrid

The latest face-off between Manchester City and Real Madrid should’ve been the clash of the titans, but it resulted in a humiliating defeat for the defending Champions League champions. Man City easily defeated Real to secure a spot in the tournament’s final stage. After losing two previous semi-finals to Real, Man City was out for revenge and they delivered a relentless performance against their bitter rivals. They didn’t just defeat Madrid, but absolutely demolished them, scoring an epic 4-0 victory in their latest face-off. Bernardo Silva was on top of his game and netted two goals in the first half alone. Despite being in a 2-0 lead, Man City’s players didn’t relax in the second half and eventually doubled their lead to 4-0 thanks to amazing performances by Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez. According to Pep Guardiola, this victory was inspired by the last year’s heartbreak, and its proof of the team’s consistency and determination. “We had to swallow the poison. All the pain we had in one year, for one season, was there today. I have a feeling that for one year we had a fear in our stomach about what happened last season but today we went out with everything we had,” said Guardiola. Man City will get a chance to finally clinch the Champions League title in the final against Inter Milan, taking place on June 10 in Istanbul.
