Manchester United Back in Champions League Following Easy Win Against Chelsea

Last season has been pretty rocky for Manchester United, but they’ve made a pretty impressive comeback this year. They booked a Champions League spot with a game to spare following a comfortable victory against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday. United was on top of their game against Chelsea, and they took an easy lead just six minutes into the game after Casemiro scored an opener for his side. Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford followed suit, netting three more goals for their side. Joao Felix's late consolation goal didn’t change much, and Chelsea eventually lost 4-1. Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag believes that this victory proves they belong in the Champions League, but it’s just a stepping stone. "Finishing in the top four was the main objective. The competition is tough, there are many teams with really good squads, good managers, and high budgets. For this moment it is the maximum but we want more and I don't have a lot of patience. Standards have to go up,” said Ten Hag. Manchester United is now set to finish third in the Premier League rankings, right behind Man City and Arsenal. This is quite an improvement in comparison to the last year, when they finished sixth and had to deal with a huge media storm in the face of Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit.
