Mariners Advance to ALDS After Overcoming 7-Run Deficit Against Blue Jays

The Seattle Mariners have advanced to the American League Division Series after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays, and they truly had to give it their all to be there. The Mariners overcame a 7-run deficit to score a spectacular 10-9 win against the Blue Jays on Saturday. The Blue Jays were clear front-runners in this game, and it seemed they cemented their spot in the ALDS once they reached an 8-1 lead. That was the moment when everything started going downhill, and the Mariners somehow managed to make an epic comeback, largely thanks to scoring 10 runs in the final five frames. The Mariners manager Scott Servais praised his players for not quitting even when things looked hopeless and giving it their all until the very last minute. “We haven't quit all year. There's a certain resolve that our group has. They just believe in each other. We talked about it coming into this series. We were going to have difficult moments. We knew that. That's what happens when you play on the road in big games,” said Servais post-game. This season is quite historic for the Seattle Mariners since it marks the first time in 21 years they’ve reached the playoffs. After defeating the Blue Jays, the Mariners move on to play the no. 1 seeded Houston Astros in their next game.
