Max Verstappen Cements His World Championship Triumph in Abu Dhabi

Max Verstappen secured his World Championship victory in early October, but that didn’t mean he’ll let his guard down. The Red Bull driver was on top of his game at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he secured another epic win to secure his Formula 1 legacy. Verstappen kicked off the race in Abu Dhabi in pole position and had no trouble beating the competition. Apart from a brief challenge from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, it was a pretty smooth race for the Dutch, who finished first ahead of Leclerc and Mercedes’s George Russell. Verstappen secured his third World Championship title at the Qatar Grand Prix, and he didn’t drop a single race since, bringing his win rate in 2023 to 86.4% This marks his record 19th win in 22 Grands Prix this season, and he took the took the podium 21 times. Verstappen thanked Red Bull for helping him reach new heights this year and added he’s fully aware it won’t be easy to have another season like this again. “We will see. We are working hard for next year to have again a very competitive car. For sure all the other teams want to try and beat us out there. We are ready for the battle but for the meantime as well we are going to enjoy a little bit this year, as well,” said Verstappen following his triumph in Abu Dhabi.
