Max Verstappen Continues His Domination at Italian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen is a clear favorite to win his second World Championship title this season, and we've reached the point where nothing's standing in his way. The Dutch Formula 1 driver continued his domination with his fifth consecutive win at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend. Despite Charles Leclerc taking the pole position, Verstappen managed to overtake the lead, and never let go. His victory was a crowning jewel of an incredible weekend for Ferrari, cementing his status as a favorite for the title. “It was quite a hectic first lap to try and stay out of trouble. So many things were happening in front of me, picked the right places to pass people, looked after our tires. Once we were in the lead, it was all about managing everything,” said Verstappen. This year’s Italian Grand Prix was the latest in the long line of races with a controversial safety car finish, caused by Daniel Ricciardo's oil leak. Drivers and team principals were divided by this decision, and Verstappen’s biggest rival Charles Leclerc was one of the people speaking against it. Verstappen is currently 116 points ahead of Leclerc with six races remaining, and it’s highly unlikely anyone will catch up with him by the end of the season. His Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez is third in the race, closely followed by Mercedes’ George Russell and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz Jr.
