Max Verstappen Continues His Domination with Eighth Straight Win in Belgium

It’s Max Verstappen’s world and we’re just living in it! The defending World Champion continued his domination at the Belgian Grand Prix and solidified his lead ahead of the summer break with his eighth consecutive victory. Verstappen headed into the Belgian Grand Prix as a clear favorite and managed to live up to the expectations despite losing the pole position to Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. He recovered from a five-place gearbox penalty to gradually pick off his rivals and win another tense race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Stavelot, Belgium. Verstappen’s "sparky" radio exchanges with his long-time race engineer Gianpiero "GP" Lambiase made the rounds online following the race, but he said it was “probably 50-50” serious. Red Bull’s team boss Christian Horner also addressed the controversy, saying that the relationship between the two is solid. "He deals with him firmly but fairly and there's a great respect between the two of them. And that comes out of a mutual trust that you must have...the only problem is that conversation between the two of them, there's 200 million people listening," said Horner. Verstappen is now in the 125-point lead behind Sergio Pérez and Fernando Alonso following his win in Belgium, and he only dropped two races to his Red Bull teammate Pérez since the start of the season.
