Max Verstappen Equals Record For Most Consecutive Wins at Dutch Grand Prix

Max Verstappen’s quest for this year’s World Championship title has been quite historic, and he continued his domination at the Dutch Grand Prix. He pulled a major comeback in this chaotic race to equal Sebastian Vettel’s all-time record for most consecutive Formula 1 wins. Verstappen started from pole position, but coming out victorious wasn’t easy. He had to survive a major downpour to be crowned as the winner at the Dutch Grand Prix, and the race was even red-flagged for 45 minutes with eight laps to go due to heavy rain. Verstappen is now only one win away from breaking Sebastian Vettel’s record for most consecutive race wins set in 2013, and he revealed that Vettel himself wished him luck. “I think after five wins in a row, Seb texted me ‘Well done, keep it up, you’re going to do it’. Nine wins in a row, it’s something very impressive… It’s not something I have in the back of my head constantly. I’m not in this sport to try and break records, I’m just here to win,” said Verstappen. There are still nine races left before the World Championship concludes with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but it’s difficult to imagine anyone but Verstappen lifting that trophy. With his latest victory, he extended his championship lead to 138 points.
