Max Verstappen Scores 15th Win of the Season in Final Race in Abu Dhabi

Max Verstappen established himself as the World Champion long before the final race, but Abu Dhabi Grand Prix further cemented his domination. He scored his 15th victory of the season, while Charles Leclerc defeated his teammate Sergio Perez to come in second. Verstappen extended his own record for most wins in a single season and defended his title in Abu Dhabi, where he was crowned the World Champion for the first time last year. "A 15th win of the season is unbelievable. It's been really enjoyable to work with the whole team and to be able to achieve something like this. I know it is going to be hard to replicate but it is also very good motivation to try and do well again next year," said Verstappen post-race. The Dutch Formula 1 star came into this race knowing he’ll win World Championship no matter what happens, but there was a lot at stake for Leclerc and Perez. They both came into the race with 290 points, and Perez lost to Leclerc by just three points. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was also memorable because it marked the last hurrah for the Formula 1 legend, Sebastian Vettel. It also marked the end of a disappointing season for Lewis Hamilton, who finished this year without a single win for the first time in his career.
